7th Do-Over Challenge Reveal

Welcome to the Do-Over Challenge Blog Hop hosted by the talented Jeannie Dukic of JKD Studio!

Iris Green Freshwater Pearls and Czech Glass Rounds

A sweet necklace /earring set just waiting to be given new life. 

Here's what I created:

Adding in some smoky iridized droplets, I made 125 tiny dangling charms that I paired with an industrial-feel chain and clasp.

This is one of my favorite kinds of bracelets to make, even though they are very labor-intensive.  I love the movement and sound of all those tiny danglies as they hang from your wrist. 

So cute - and it will go with so many things!

It's Time for the 5th Do-Over Challenge!

Here is a photo of the necklace and earrings set I received:

3-strand necklace & earrings set made with glass chips, ceramic, coral & wood beads

I've been playing with waxed Irish linen cord and knotting jewelry, and decided to make the jewelry for this challenge in that style.

The first necklace I made I added a large natural carnelian focal bead, yellow jade, turquoise nuggets and some gorgeous rhodocrosite ovals to some of the ceramic beads and glass chips, all strung on salmon-colored cord.  I've worn this necklace a few times and absolutely love it!

The second set I made features an enameled focal with amazonite, coral and glass chips with a clasp made from a pewter button from Lynne Davis.  The components are all strung on a rust-colored cord.  Here is the matching bracelet:

I still had beads left over, and decided to make some handmade copper hoop earrings using the wood, ceramic, glass and coral beads:

April Echo Creative Club Reveal

Back in this post I shared my beautiful iris colored 'Gin Blossom' from Jeannie of Jewelry By Jeannie from her "Peeled Paint" line of beads, and here is the bracelet I made with it (please excuse the photo quality - I can't get my camera to take a decent picture of the bracelet - I promise you the purple is so much prettier in real life!):

I opted for a simple 4-strand strung bracelet in different shades of purple and cream with patinaed silver and steel accents.

Purple is one of my favorite colors to design with, and I wanted to bring a vintage feel to my piece to highlight the vintage-y feel of the focal.

I'll definitely be wearing this one!

Do-Over Challenge Blog Hop

Welcome to the Do-Over Challenge Blog Hop hosted by the talented Jeannie Dukic of Jewelry By Jeannie.  If you remember, in this post I showed you a photo of an old necklace design of Jeannie's that she has challenged me to re-work.  To refresh your memory, here is the original necklace:

The necklace had dozens of tiny turquoise chips and pink coral beads that would work well with my newest hobby of beadweaving.

Here is what I made from Jeannie's design:

I made a beaded collage cabochon using coordinating glass beads and the coral beads, as well as adding the  beaded tassel with glass and some of the turquoise chips.

Here's a detailed picture of the focal.

I opted for an asymmetrical design, with the turquoise on one side and silver plated chains on the other to balance out the visual weight of the turquoise.
