Two Days Til Tomorrow On Tour!

OK...I've kept this quiet until we knew for sure it was happening, and now I can finally say it out loud: our son, Zach, is going on tour with his band, Two Days Til Tomorrow, this summer! They will be part of Extreme Faith Productions' "Par Avion Tour" with 3 other bands. The tour will go for 16 days and encompass 6 states (Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon & California).

The headlining band is High Flight Society, and our boys will be opening for them with Sleep for Sleepers and This Great Escape. We are so excited! They will be starting out here in Arizona on June 12th at 7:30 pm at Grand Canyon University with a free concert. If you are in town and want to catch a great show, come on down - we would love to see you!

A Proud Mom - Beach Boys, Rage Music Festival and Two Days Til Tomorrow...

I've gotta tell you how proud I am of my son and their band, Two Days Til Tomorrow. In the past few weeks they have had a couple of amazing opportunities, and I wanted to share some of them with you:

On the 8th, the Beach Boys came out our way to play, and the boys were one of the opening bands. What an opportunity! For 14 to 17 year-olds, this was an amazing experience (and the biggest stage they've ever played on)! Earlier in the day, they did an acoustic set in the same area and did a great job.

On the 14th, the band had the first round of competition to win a spot to play at the "Rage Music Festival", a 3-day Christian rock festival held in January here in Phoenix. This was the same competition they participated in last year, and they ended up playing in that festival. They have moved on to the finals, which are being held on December 5th at the "Rain" venue in Glendale.

Also, the boys are headed into the recording studio next week to record a 4-song EP which should be available soon - yea!

All in all, this ride is pretty amazing to tag along on!

That's it for now!

Summer Jewelry Challenge: Project #9

I have been working on Project #9 on and off for a couple of weeks now, and I finally have something to show for it! This was definitely the hardest one for me so far, as I went into it with a definite vision of how I wanted the piece to look, and I went through a lot of metal before I resigned myself to the fact that if I wanted to actually complete the piece, I was going to have to go with what I had. With that said, I did end up with two versions of the project: the first one looks more like the version in the book, and the second one concentrates more on the "cut-out" area and how to fill that negative space. All in all, I am happy with both pieces. I was really excited to use some beads that I bought from a wonderful etsy vendor, gypsywoman (her shop is great for beautiful vintage beads).

We are off to Tucson tomorrow for a gig with my son's band,
Two Days Til Tomorrow. They are opening up for Fireflight and Downcast Fable, and it should be a great concert! If you are in the area, they will be playing at:

Tucson Community Church
4950 West Pima Farms Road
Tucson, Arizona 85741
Cost : $10 - (480) 812-1100 for ticket info

All in all, life is pretty darn good!
