Calling All Creative People...

I just finished watching this video (shared by Jon Acuff on his blog "Stuff Christians Like"), and it was entirely inspiring as far as the creative process goes.

The video is of a speech made by Elizabeth Gilbert, writer of Eat, Pray, Love, talking about the daunting task of writing her next book after the phenomenal success of her first book.  It addresses the weight of stress and anxiety we heap onto our own shoulders with each creative effort, and offers a new way of thinking about where our creativity comes from.

I encourage all of you to take a few minutes and watch it (you can turn off the music on my blog before listening to the video by scrolling down to the bottom of the page & clicking on the "pause" button on the player):

Ole`!

** As a footnote I'd like to add that, although this is not a Christian video, the message that I as a Christian take from it is that my creative abilties are 'on loan' to me from God, and that it is my 'job' to use them in the way He intended me to.  He will provide the inspiration and guidance for me.  :-)
