Welcome to the Do-Over Challenge Blog Hop hosted by the talented Jeannie Dukic of Jewelry By Jeannie. The way this works is Jeannie sends out an old piece of jewelry that she made and challenges us to use the components of the piece in a new piece of jewelry. Here is a photo of the necklace and earrings set I received:
3-strand necklace & earrings set made with glass chips, ceramic, coral & wood beads
I've been playing with waxed Irish linen cord and knotting jewelry, and decided to make the jewelry for this challenge in that style.
The first necklace I made I added a large natural carnelian focal bead, yellow jade, turquoise nuggets and some gorgeous rhodocrosite ovals to some of the ceramic beads and glass chips, all strung on salmon-colored cord. I've worn this necklace a few times and absolutely love it!
The second set I made features an enameled focal with amazonite, coral and glass chips with a clasp made from a pewter button from Lynne Davis. The components are all strung on a rust-colored cord. Here is the matching bracelet:
I still had beads left over, and decided to make some handmade copper hoop earrings using the wood, ceramic, glass and coral beads:
I love all the sets I made with Jeannie's beautiful beads, and want to thank her so much for hosting this great blog hop! Take a few minutes and check out all the other fantastic artists participating today:

Holly Hanna Molly, you always blow me away with your design talent. When I look at my design and yours it's like night and day. You even make those sparkly glass chips look good. The gemstones you added like the amazonite, turquoise and yellow jade are perfect. Thank you so much for participating and I hope you join us for the next one.
Beautiful, beachy and wild make-over. Awesome!!
You had so much to choose from! I think I would have crowded more into each design. So glad you did not. Love the colored cord, it really changes the mood!
YOur original set looks really short ... was it? Love what you did especailly that first necklace... Does the bracelet stay the right way up or does the enameled piece slide to the bottom?
What a beautiful transformation! The original, while full of its own beauty, was heavy looking. You've created light, colorful, modern pieces that would be a joy to wear. I've not played with Irish linen thread before...I'll have to look into that. Sounds like I'd like it.
I love what you did with the Irish linen thread. It gave an old style a new update. Fresh and modern pieces!
The original design looked a little cluttered and had a lot going on. Your designs are so light and earthy. I love those earrings!
OMGosh this set is sooooo my style.. I love love love it. Makes me want to be on the beach right now. Great Job.
WOW!! Incredible, what a transformation!
Amazing pieces! You really did a beautiful job on creating something brand new and gorgeous out of Jeannie's original piece!
Lovely!
I like finding garage sale, and thrift store finds and taking them apart and using them in new ways.
Such a load of beautiful gems to play with. And I love the pieces you made. Knotted jewelry reminds me of summer and the beach, so easy and fun to wear.
You had a nice selection of beads to work with. I love the matching necklace and bracelet, and all of the earrings are great!
