April Bead Trends–Spring is Here!

I haven’t had a reliable computer for the better part of two weeks, and haven’t had a chance to write this post, but better late than never, right? 

If you haven’t had a chance to pick up your copy of the April Bead Trends, you are missing out on some beautiful jewelry!

The Spring colors of the jewelry pieces are just gorgeous, and the featured designer, lampwork artist Kerri Fuhr, showcases her unbelievably gorgeous beads in her designs.

I have a necklace in this issue called “Nesting” that I made using etched copper, found objects, mixed media, ICE Resin, and Czech flower beads.  The focal features fabulous navy and mustard patinas from Miss Fickle Media.

Need a Little Color In Your Life?

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Shannon LeVart, a.k.a. Missficklemedia, she is an amazingly talented artist and metal coloring specialist who sells her colorful handmade jewelry components in her etsy shop.

I have long admired her gorgeous wares, and was so excited to hear that she has put together a fantastic downloadable tutorial called "Color Drenched Metal" that shares, in detail, her own techniques for coloring all kinds of metal.  In addition, she is now selling bottles of her unique patinas - so cool!
