I Couldn't, But He Did...

Sin:

He didn’t, I did
He doesn’t, I do
He won’t, I will

Payment:

I can’t, He can

He did.

It's Friday, But Sunday’s Coming….

Remembering-Good-Friday

For the past couple of years, I have posted this sermon given years ago by esteemed pastor S. M. Lockridge to his congregation; I think it bears repeating:
It's Friday. Jesus is arrested in the garden where He was praying. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. The disciples are hiding and Peter's denying that he knows the Lord. But Sunday's coming.

It's Friday. Jesus is standing before the high priest of Israel, silent as a lamb before the slaughter. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. Jesus is beaten, mocked, and spit upon. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. Those Roman soldiers are flogging our Lord with a leather scourge that has bits of bones and glass and metal, tearing at his flesh. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. The Son of man stands firm as they press the crown of thorns down into his brow. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. See Him walking to Calvary, the blood dripping from His body. See the cross crashing down on His back as He stumbles beneath the load. It's Friday; but Sunday's a coming.
It's Friday. See those Roman soldiers driving the nails into the feet and hands of my Lord. Hear my Jesus cry, Father, forgive them. It's Friday; but Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. Jesus is hanging on the cross, bloody and dying. But Sunday's coming.

It's Friday. The sky grows dark, the earth begins to tremble, and He who knew no sin became sin for us. Holy God who will not abide with sin pours out His wrath on that perfect sacrificial lamb who cries out, "My God, My God. Why hast thou forsaken me?" What a horrible cry. But Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. And at the moment of Jesus' death, the veil of the Temple that separates sinful man from Holy God was torn from the top to the bottom because Sunday's coming.
It's Friday. Jesus is hanging on the cross, heaven is weeping and hell is partying. But that's because it's Friday, and they don't know it, but Sunday's a coming.

Quick Thoughts On Passionate Living...

"When you reach the point

that you are passionate enough about something

to the point that you would die for it,

shouldn't that change how you live for it?"

Faith 4 God...

I wanted to share a great blog with you all: Faith 4 God, written by Peter Sauer up in Washington State. Peter describes the purpose of his blog this way:

"I created faith4god.com for the purpose of expanding God’s kingdom. How do I intend on doing this you might ask??? Well I just wanted to create a site that is fun and inviting. A site that God would approve of that has a little bit to offer to everyone out there! When people leave faith4god.com I want them to leave it with a smile on their face and feeling uplifted and hopefully closer to God. If it weren’t for my desire to bring people to God this site would not exist."

Every day Peter and his wife post an entry that coordinates with this schedule:

  • Sermon Sunday

  • Music Monday

  • Testimony Tuesday

  • Weekly Scripture Wednesday

  • Thursday Thought of the Week

  • Fun Facts Friday

  • Silly Jokes and Quotes Saturday

Today, Peter used one of my blog posts, Transparency, as the testimony for this week. Thank you, Peter, for sharing this post with your readers. I am honored you chose my words to further your purpose of sharing Christ's love with your readers.

For Unto Us A Child Is Born...

For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government and peace

there will be no end.

He will reign on David's throne

and over his kingdom,

establishing and upholding it

with justice and righteousness

from that time on and forever.

Isaiah 9:6-7
